November Activities

Forty-three years ago this month, we made the momentous move to Taiwan, to begin a life-long work among Chinese speaking people. Forty years ago this month, I begin my first short-term mission trip to Thailand, Pakistan, Singapore, and Malaysia. This current trip is my 86th short-term mission trip that carried Eta and I to Singapore and Taiwan.

We are thankful for all of the support and prayers we have received through the years in these efforts. May the Lord continue to bless all of us as we continue His work around the world.

Current Mission Trip

Since our return to Asia at the end of October, near the end of November, we have traveled to Singapore to attend a couple of days of the Four Seas College Lectureship, where I delivered some items from the Schertz congregation to both the English and Chinese schools there. I also had the privilege to teach my Chinese students, in person, at the Jurong church building. Normally, I teach my classes on-line.

It was great to be with brethren who had come from Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, China, and the USA to attend the lectureship this year.

We departed Singapore on November 29th to head to Taiwan for our activities there from Nov. 30th to Dec. 16th. We first arrived in Taipei to meet with the brethren there on the last Sunday (the last day of the month) in Nov. Our son, Samuel, has also come to Taiwan for eleven days of sightseeing. He led the singing in Taipei for the worship services. His first trip to Taiwan in 33 years.

On Dec. 2nd, Sam, Eta, and I headed for Taichung for our second stop in Taiwan. In our December report, we will talk about our time in Taichung and Hualien. We will also talk about Stan Stockton joining us in Taichung.

Looking Ahead To 2026

We are scheduled to return to the states in January, 2026.

Please continue to pray for all of our efforts among the Chinese people in Southeast Asia.

***************

We continue to be thankful for all of your prayers and support as we strive to work among English and Chinese speaking people around the world.

It is because of your support that we are able to continue our work among the Chinese people in Asia and other parts of the world. We could not do it without you.

This is the time of year when congregations will decide their budgets for 2026. If you can include us in your budget, it would be a great help and blessing to us and the work. We are always looking for faithful brethren interested in helping our work among the Chinese people.

October Events

It is now November in Asia. We arrived safely here in Lampung, Sumatra on October 29th. We were in the states for about eight weeks before heading back to Asia. While we were in the states, I was able to give reports at five congregations in four states.

One of the places I was able to speak was at the World Mission Forum in Forest Park, GA (Atlanta). I was able to give an update on the work we are striving to do about Chinese people. It was also good to be around other missionaries from various countries around the world. Thanks to the elders at Forest Park for extending this invitation.

While in the states, I continued my on-line lessons in English and Chinese. In addition to attending all of these classes, I also speak at the Subang Jaya, Malaysia class, preaching in Taiwan and Section 17, Malaysia every month. I am in the middle of my course on Exodus – Leviticus at Four Seas College – Chinese Department. We are thankful to be able to work with the Schertz congregation when we are in Texas. I take part in all of the activities there and also was able to teach one of the Wed. classes before we left for Asia.

Upcoming Trips

Since our return to Asia, we will travel to Taiwan in December for about seventeen days to speak in three congregations. The annual lectureship will take place in Taichung – Dec. 5-7.

We are scheduled to return to the states in January, 2026. One of the main things we will work on when we return to the states in January, 2026 will be to try to get Eta’s green card (permanent residence). If we can get her permanent residence, it will make our traveling easier. Right now, she can only be in the United States for six months in a calendar year. In order to make our overseas appointments, we usually stay three months in the USA and three months overseas.

Please continue to pray for all of these efforts among the Chinese people in Southeast Asia.

This is the time of year when congregations will decide their budgets for 2026. If you can include us in your budget, it would be a great help and blessing to us and the work. For a variety of reasons, we lose a few supporters every year, so we are always looking for faithful brethren interested in helping our work among the Chinese people.
