January 2026 Events

Before going back to the states from Indonesia, I preached in Taichung, Taiwan and Section 17 Malaysia on the first Sunday of the January.

On January 7th, we began our journey back to the U.S. We first flew to Jakarta to catch our flight to Seoul, Korea. After a layover of eleven hours there, we boarded our flight to Atlanta, GA. We had a shorter layover there than usual, because now, when we arrive in Atlanta, we do not have to pick up our luggage and then put them back for our final flight. That saves a considerable amount of time, so we can made the time between flights shorter. We boarded our last leg from Atlanta to San Antonio, arriving there just before midnight on January 8th. We were thankful that Cliff and Sandi Robberts were there to meet us and take us to our apartment.

We are thankful to be back with our sponsoring congregation in Schertz, TX. While we are with the brethren here, we are able to take part in all of the weekly Bible classes and worship services. I also have opportunities to lead singing for some of the services.

On January 21st, I taught once again in the weekly on-line class in Malaysia. I am scheduled to teach again on Feb. 11th.

On January 28th, I taught the Wednesday night class on the assigned subject of Hosea and Gomer. During this quarter, we have been discussing Biblical Families.

On January 29th and 30th, Eta and I had the opportunity to attend some of the lessons of “Focal Point” at the University church in San Marcos, TX. We also had the opportunity to visit with many of our brethren from various parts of the country.

On January 31st, we drove to the Houston, TX area to stay with Cary and Sharon Dwyer and speak at the Graeber Rd. congregation on Feb. 1st. I preached a lesson on Evangelism and gave a presentation of our work to the congregation. It had been a number of years since I had seen the Dwyers. We have known each other since the late 1990’s.

It was good to meet with the Graeber Rd. brethren and talk about the need for continuing to work together to carry the gospel to the whole world.

Please continue to pray for all of our efforts among the Chinese people in Southeast Asia.

***************

We continue to be thankful for all of your prayers and support as we strive to work among English and Chinese speaking people around the world.

It is because of your support that we are able to continue our work among the Chinese people in Asia and other parts of the world. We could not do it without you.

We are thankful for three congregations who were able to increase their support for this year. This helps to make up for those who are no longer able to help us in our work.

December Mission Trip Completed in Taiwan (Continued)

On Dec. 2nd, Sam, Eta, and I headed for Taichung for our second stop in Taiwan. The next day, Stan Stockton, one of our elders at the Schertz church arrived in Taiwan. I went to meet him and bring him to Taichung.

Sam had returned to Taiwan for the first time in thirty-three years to sightsee and also to attend the Annual Taichung Lectureship. Stan came back to Taiwan for the first time in twenty-five years and would be delivering two lessons for the lectureship. I would translate for him.

Sam did a lot more sightseeing than the rest of us. Both Eta and I got sick in Taichung, so that curtailed some of our activities. But when the lectureship began, I was back to almost normal. Eta spent another day getting over her illness. We both visited the doctor to get medicine to help.

The lectureship began on Friday night with two lessons, then there were eight lessons on Saturday. One of those lessons was delivered by Stan with my translation. I also translated the PPT charts for both of his lessons.

On Sunday, Stan spoke and I translated for him. It was good to be back in Taichung. We had not been there in two years. On the Tuesday after the lectureship, Stan and Sam headed back to the states, while Eta and I headed for Hualien.

I spoke seven times in Hualien, which included a gospel meeting. We always enjoy our visits with the brethren in Hualien. Through the years, I have been there more than 50 times. We were able to have fellowship with the brethren and teach private Bible studies in addition to the lessons. Be sure to check out our pictures on my Facebook page.

We look forward to another Taiwan trip at the end of 2026.

Looking Ahead To 2026

We are scheduled to return to the states on January 8, 2026.

Please continue to pray for all of our efforts among the Chinese people in Southeast Asia, whether we are in Asia or the states.

We continue to be thankful for all of your prayers and support as we strive to work among English and Chinese speaking people around the world.

It is because of your support that we are able to continue our work among the Chinese people in Asia and other parts of the world. We could not do it without you.

This is the time of year when congregations will decide their budgets for 2026. If you can include us in your budget, it would be a great help and blessing to us and the work. We are always looking for faithful brethren interested in helping our work among the Chinese people.
