72nd Mission Trip April 18-July 1 Concluded

  This is a continuation of the report I began in the May and June 2019 mission reports.

  As we completed the June report, Eta and I had just arrived back in Lampung, Sumatra, Indonesia. It would be our first chance at domesticity. We have either been separated or traveling since our wedding. During most of the month of June we did not leave the country of Indonesia. I did have the opportunity to speak to the Azoka church every week. I taught the Bible class on Thursday night and preached and taught on Sunday as well. The one exception to that was when we traveled to Bali and I had the privilege to speak there on June 23rd. On June 21st, my youngest son, Sam, and my daughter, Libby, were able to come to Indonesia for our wedding dinner for friends and family. We were glad they were able to come over and meet many new friends and family members.

  On June 30th, after preaching at the morning services in Lampung, I headed for the airport to begin my long trip back to the states – by myself! We had hoped to obtain the visa for Eta, but it was denied. We will try again in August for the October trip to the states.

  I had a good trip back to the states where I am now trying to catch up on my work here at home and get over jetlag.

  On almost a weekly basis, I am translating a Bible lesson for a prospect in Palmerston North, New Zealand. Kent O’Donnell is teaching the class to a Chinese lady and I am doing the translating.

Report from James and Emily Cammock

  In February, John Grubb came to New Zealand on a mission trip. This was an extra special visit because he brought his new bride with him. Eta is a lovely addition to John’s work as a missionary. She is very friendly and kind and she is a wonderful cook. Most of all, she is a faithful Christian and is very ready and willing to use her talents in the service of the kingdom. She and Emily hit if off very well and enjoyed spending time together.

  For John’s time with us we focused on being out in the community inviting people to come to the Gospel meeting that we would be hosting with John as the speaker. We used a local printing company to design and print over 3,000 flyers, which we then letterboxed. John and I also spent time in the CBD (central business district) of Hamilton in order to engage with Chinese-speaking people. The theme of the Gospel meeting was, “What Does the Bible Say? and covered various topics:

  The Majestic Love of God

  To Whom Shall We Go

  Speaking the Truth in Love

  Extending and Defending the Truth

  True Worship

  Pillars of a Successful Marriage

  This was John’s third time visiting New Zealand and we have enjoyed each of his visits. We have a running joke with John that every time he comes to New Zealand we have a new baby. When he first visited, Simon was only a few weeks old. At this second visit, Emily was not far from having Shiloh. This third time he visited, one of the first things he asked after arriving at our house was if we had another baby yet. We told him no at the time, but that wasn’t true for every long!

  (At this writing, Emily was about half way through her pregnancy. We wish the Cammocks all the best in their work. JMG).
