Even
though we have received some new support in 2020, we have lost about $500 a
month (so far) in our support. During this new year, I will be seeking new
sources of support to enable our work to continue. Thanks for your help and for
your prayers.

2020 Indonesia Mission Trip
This year, we went to several cities in
Indonesia during the months of February and March, 2020, to encourage the
churches in those cities. Those cities include Manado, Palembang, Batam, Jakarta,
and Lampung. I will teach the gospel according to John at the Bible school early in March.
This was my 75th overseas mission trip since
1985.
I had an uneventful trip from Atlanta to
Jakarta and was able to sleep many hours on the two legs of the trip. I arrived
in Jakarta to find my wife waiting for me. Unfortunately, one of my bags was
never sent from Atlanta and I had to wait until the next day for it to be
delivered to the hotel where we stayed for the weekend. First time Delta had
done that to me since 1995.
On Sunday, I spoke at the Block M
congregation in Jakarta. This was the first time I had ever visited this
congregation.
On Monday, we flew to Surabaya for another
try at an American visa for my wife. The failed results of that effort are
detailed below. We were able to meet with some of Eta’s relatives while we were
in Surabaya.
We headed back to Lampung on Thursday. On
Saturday, Feb. 15th, Eta and I headed for Manado. During the week we were
there, I spoke twice on Sunday, then taught two hours each night Tuesday
through Thursday. It was my third visit to the city, but the first for Eta. We
were thankful to be with the brethren and to be able to encourage and be
encouraged.
We would spend a few days back in Lampung
before heading to Batam to teach in that island city very near to Singapore.
On February 26th, Eta, Timbul Sirait, and me
headed for Batam for a weekend effort with the brethren there. We arrived in
time to attend a Bible study for about two hours with some of the brethren in
Batam. On Friday, we spent the day with Eta’s sister and her family. Saturday
evening, I spoke at the Bible class at the Batam church building.
On Sunday March 1, we spent the day with the
brethren in Batam and Eta and I both spoke. I taught in the morning worship and
then in the Bible class, we split into two groups, men and women.

4th Visa Application
During
the month of February, Eta made a fourth attempt to obtain a tourist visa to
come to the United States. We had secured the help of Senator Perdue’s office
(U.S. Senator from Georgia) and were hopeful that, this time, her visa
application would be approved. Even though we had your prayers, we did not
receive approval.
We
are thankful Eta can travel with me to other countries and we hope that someday
she will be able to add the United States to that list. This simply means I
will be spending more time in Asia and less time in the United States.
