August Activities in America
On August 1st. I began teaching the Epistles of Peter, John, and Jude at Four Seas College – Chinese Dept. This class will continue until Sept. 20th. As of this writing, I have just given the mid-term test and are now in the last three weeks of the course.
On August 2nd, we helped Jojo to move out of her apartment in Austin, TX. After her graduation, she is doing a one-year internship at World Video Bible School in Maxwell, TX. Sister Kathy Scott graciously offered Jojo a place to stay until she can afford an apartment or she sees what is in her future. She was able to obtain her Texas driver’s license and so we left our car with her while we are back in Indonesia. She is depending on brethren to support her while she is doing the internship. While in the states, my regular teaching and Bible study continued. Sunday morning began with attending the Section 17 Chinese worship service in Malaysia. That is 5:00 AM CDT. I speak at this service the second Sunday of every month. It continued with morning Bible study and worship at Schertz. At 5:00 PM, we had the evening service at Schertz. Then, at 7:25 PM, I attended the Four Seas College – Chinese Dept. weekly chapel.
On Tuesday morning at 7:00 AM, I participate in the Subang Jaya, Malaysia Chinese Bible Class. At 10:00 AM, I attended the Men’s Bible class at Schertz. On Wednesday morning at 7:00 AM, I participate in the Subang Jaya “In-devo” Bible class. I speak at this class once a month, and also often serve as MC for the Q&A sessions.
We plan to spend the month of October in Malaysia working with some of the congregations there. The first two weeks of December, we will be in Taiwan to speak on the Taichung Annual Lectureship and preach at some of the congregations there. We are currently scheduled to return to the United States on January 31, 2025.
On August 29th, we began our journey back to Asia. We traveled from San Antonio to Atlanta in the evening, then right after midnight on the 30th, we headed for Seoul, Korea. We had a twelve-hour layover there before heading to Jakarta. We arrived there at 8:30 PM on August 31st.
On Sunday morning, September 1st, I preached on-line to the church in Taichung, Taiwan. We are thankful for all the prayers on our behalf and all the help we have received from our brethren.

Postscript: In the next report, we will let you know of our plans to try to find a regular house or apartment to rent during the times we are in Texas. We are hoping to pick up some additional monthly support to help meet this new expense.
