July in America
On July 2nd, we began our fifty-five hour trip back to the United States. Delta Airlines made the trip better by upgrading our seats on the two flights we were on their plane. We arrived safely late on July 3rd. We are thankful for all of the prayers for our work and our trip. We “hit the ground running” after we arrived.
On July 5th, Schertz hosted the Summer Youth night at the building. Even though it was the holiday weekend, there was a very good turnout for the event.
On July 6th, I spoke at the Sunday morning worship of the church in Taichung. I have started a series on the Epistles of John.
While in the states, my regular teaching and Bible study continues. Sunday morning begins with attending the Section 17 Chinese worship service in Malaysia. That is 5:00 AM CDT. I speak at this service the second Sunday of every month. It continues with morning Bible study and worship at Schertz. At 5:00 PM, we have the evening service at Schertz. Then, at 7:25 PM, I attend the Four Seas College – Chinese Dept. Weekly chapel.
On Tuesday morning at 7:00 AM, I participate in the Subang Jaya, Malaysia Chinese Bible Class. At 10:00 AM, I attend the Men’s Bible class at Schertz. On Wednesday morning at 7:00 AM, I participate in the Subang Jaya “In-devo” Bible class. I speak at this class once a month, and also often serve as MC for the Q&A sessions.
For the past several weeks, I have been spending a lot of time in preparing the PowerPoint Notes for my next class at Four Seas College – Chinese Dept. on the Epistles of Peter, John, and Jude. This class goes from August 1st until September 20th. We have seven full-time students in Singapore and five others from China. All of my classes will take place on-line.
On July 27th, I had the privilege to teach the Bible class and preach via google meet to the Church St. congregation in Melbourne, Australia. It had been a few years since I have had that privilege.
On July 28th, I did a mission report and preached at the Central congregation in Pflugerville, TX. It was good to see Kirk Tooley, who is the preacher there.
We are currently scheduled to return to Indonesia on August 29th. We plan to spend the month of October in Malaysia working with some of the congregations there. The first two weeks of December, we will be in Taiwan to speak on the Taichung Annual Lectureship and preach at some of the congregations there. We are currently scheduled to return to the United States on January 31, 2025.

We are thankful for all of your prayers and continued support as we strive to work among English and Chinese speaking people around the world.
