April Lectureships and Gospel Meetings

 

      I had the privilege to attend two lectureships and two gospel meetings during the month of April. It was good to see many friends and hear some excellent lessons at both the Memphis School of Preaching and the Southwest School of Bible Studies. Memphis School of Preaching also sent two groups of students to two area congregations for gospel meeting/campaigns. Dan Cates took a group to the Rabun County congregation in northeast Georgia where McKinley Pate preaches. B.J. Clarke took a second group to Adairsville in northwest Georgia where Rick Lawson preaches.

 

     In the second week of the month, I had the privilege to attend the Southwest Lectures in Austin, TX. Even though I was not scheduled to speak, I ended up filling in for one of the speakers presenting two lessons on Tuesday morning. There were many excellent lessons presented and I greatly enjoyed the fellowship and friendship of many brethren there.

 

     In the last full week of April, I went up to visit my mother, three of my grandchildren, and Imogene Hann, one of mom’s life-long friends and member of the Groveport, Ohio Church of Christ. We went through Greenwood, Indiana to see the grandkids, then went on over to Ohio spend the weekend with Imogene. Mom went with me to Indianapolis and Ohio. While we were in Greenwood, we were able to celebrate the twelfth birthday of my grandson Ethan.

 

      I spoke at the Groveport church on Sunday morning. Mom and I went back to worship Sunday night with the Shelbyville Road Church of Christ in Indianapolis before heading back to Terre Haute Sunday night. On Monday morning, I headed to the Indianapolis International Airport to head back home. It was good to be able to see my mother and three of my grandchildren again. My mother will turn ninety years old on August 15th.

 

      I had a safe trip back home to Georgia and will continue working on my projects leading up to my next overseas trip at the end of this month.

Singapore and Malaysia Trip at the End of This Month

 

      At the end of this month, I will be making my 52nd overseas mission trip to Singapore and Malaysia. I will be speaking at the 9th Annual Chinese Asian Bible Lectureship. I will conduct gospel meetings in English at the Section 17 and Kota Kemuning congregations.

CHINESE BIBLES: During the month of April I had a number of requests for Chinese Bibles and materials. I was happy to supply them to help spread the gospel among the Chinese people even in the United States.
