Malaysia and Singapore – June 2010

We have made final plans for the June trip to Singapore and Malaysia for the CABL and gospel meetings. The dates of this trip will be June 1-21. I will conduct gospel meetings at the Section 17 and Klang congregations. I will also participate in an inter-congregational camp in between these two meetings. Then, I will speak at the Chinese Asian Bible Lectureship conducted at Jurong in Singapore. I will finish the trip by speaking in English and Chinese at the Lim Ah Pin congregation.

In addition, I have been invited to speak at the Four Seas College Lectureship the first five days of December 2010. My topic is “The Transformed Life.” I will be working on arranging other speaking appointments in connection with this effort near the end of the year. I will probably try to book the tickets for this trip sometime later this month.

9th Annual Hubbard Lectures

It was my privilege to be one of the speakers on this year’s lectureship. The local preacher is Delbert Goins. He was and is a great influence and encouragement to me in the preaching of the gospel. I have appreciated his support and advice for many decades. It was also so good to see Myron Goins again. He has also been a good friend and supporter through the years. I spoke on Saturday afternoon and twice on Sunday morning.Delbert and Myron GoinsIt was also good to see Eddie Montgomery again. I met him the last time I spoke here in Hubbard. Alan Laguna was also one of the speakers on the lectureship. He is an elder in New Orleans, LA.

Additional Filming at WVBS

While in Texas, I made another visit to the offices and studios of World Video Bible School to film additional Chinese and English lessons for use around the world. On the first day I was able to film three more Chinese lessons in the series on Leadership. I also recorded two English lessons for the series “Faith-Building Sermons.’Preparing to Film Chinese Lesson

On day two of filming, I started out by filming two English lessons. Then, I was able to record three more Chinese lessons in the Leadership series.Filming Chinese Lessons on Day Two

On days two through five, I was able to film ten more English lessons and I also finished the current segment in the Chinese series on Leadership.

The trip home on Saturday was eventful because of storms in the Atlanta area. I will hope to return in the spring of next year to continue filming additional English lessons for airing on GBN, as well as begin a new segment in the series on Leadership in Chinese.

Trip to TN, IN, and OH

Immediately after returning from Texas, I went to speak at the New Hope church in Readyville, TN. They had a “Family Day” on April 25th. I spoke three times there. That evening, I visited with the Leoni church in eastern part of Cannon County. It was good to see lots of old friends at both congregations.Mom and me The next day, I headed on north to visit my mother in Terre Haute, IN. I had not seen her since last October. On Thursday morning, I did a PowerPoint presentation on my work. After lunch, I headed for Indianapolis to see some of my grandchildren.

On Friday evening, my oldest granddaughter, Meghan, decided to obey the gospel. I had the privilege to baptize her into Christ. We hope she will continue to live each day for Christ. On the first Sunday in May, I had the privilege to speak at the Groveport church in Ohio. They started supporting me at the beginning of this year. I returned home on May 3rd, and will start filming English programs at TFTW beginning next week.

ON-GOING PROJECTS UPDATE

Editing Old Chinese Sermons

Over a decade ago, I recorded 60 lessons on VHS tapes at WVBS. I have decided to re-record these lessons and edit them here at Truth for the World. This will also be an on-going project for the next two years. I have completed translating about 30% of the nineteen outlines that will be available to go along with the lessons and also to use on the teleprompter.

I continue to edit the audio from these old video programs for our radio program. So far, I have completed the editing on 50 out of 60 of these radio programs. After completing this editing, I will begin editing the audio from the “Chinese Sermons and Outlines” series. There will be an additional 58 lessons from this to add to the radio program rotation.Working on Materials for FutureWVBS Filming Projects

I will continue to prepare outlines for the current Chinese series on “Leadership.” In addition, I am continuing to prepare English lessons I record each time I travel to WVBS. These English lessons can be used by churches that do not have a preacher. They are now being used on Gospel Broadcasting Network under the title, “Faith-Building Sermons.” These lessons air four times a week (Sunday – 5:30 AM; Wednesday – 2:00 PM; Saturday – 5:00 AM and PM) on GBN.
