The Corona Virus has been a real problem for everyone. It has also affected congregations around the world. Let’s continue to pray for solution to this problem in the very near future.

The Month of May “Sheltering in Place”

While being unable to travel overseas during the month of May, I have tried to be as active as I can be in participating in Facebook Live and Zoom meetings.

During this month, I have been able to speak and/or participate in between eight and twelve sessions in four different countries per week.

I will continue to do this until I am able to travel overseas again.

We are happy that many congregations are now meeting publicly again, not only in the United States, but in other countries as well.

NOTE: My wife and I continue to watch the news from to see when they will open back up to foreigners. It is possible that some other country will open before Indonesia. If so, then my wife and I will make plans to meet there and then to be of any help we can in the evangelism and edification of the church there. We solicit your prayers. Another issue is the current 14 day quarantines that most countries are following.

THE POWER OF GOD

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end” (Ephesians 3:20-21).

In this passage, Paul emphasizes we cannot know the limits of the power of God. He tells us God is “able” or has the necessary power. He has the power to “do exceedingly abundantly,” that is above and beyond, super-abundant, very highly, beyond measure. The word above carries the same meaning as the word “exceeding.” God has the power to do more than “all we ask or think.” Any and every request, God can do. He can even do more than we can even imagine.

The gospel is God’s power to save mankind (Romans 1:16; 1 Corinthians 1:18). He commanded us to preach this gospel to the whole world (Mark 16: 15-16). We are not to have the spirit of fear, but of power (2 Timothy 1:7). Even though Satan and men have power, God’s power exceeds the power of Satan and men. “If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31).

ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF THE POWER OF GOD

A Quartermaster General of the Army once calculated what would be needed to provide for the Israelites to cross the Red Sea, then living in the wilderness. It has been estimated that there were about three million people that had to be fed.

1.       1,500 tons of food daily – Enough to fill two freight trains a mile
long each.
2.  4,000 tons of firewood each day.
3.  One million gallons of water each day.
4.  The campsite each night would demand 750 square miles. That is
2/3rds the size of Rhode Island.
5.  This was done for 40 years or 14,600 days.

To cross the Red Sea in a single night it would require walking 5,000 people side by side. Only God could make it possible.
