August in America
Beginning on August 10th, I started teaching my new class at Four Seas College – Chinese Department that is located in Singapore, but is taught via Zoom by teachers from Singapore, Malaysia, China, and America. We have four full-time students actually located in Singapore, but we have a number of other students located primarily in China.
We are thankful to be able to do what we can to help in the work at Schertz while we are stateside. We also try to participate in efforts that take place in the area.
The course I am teaching this time is on “The Life of a Preacher – Christian Life.” These classes will conclude at the end of September.
After that, I will be teaching the Chinese course on Exodus – Leviticus from Dec. 1 through Jan. 19, 2024.
In addition to teaching in the school, I meet regularly on-line with churches in Taiwan and Malaysia. This is true for August and continues in September as well. This includes Chinese worship with the church in Taichung, Taiwan, and the Section 17 church in Malaysia. I take part in a Tuesday Chinese Bible class in Malaysia, and a Wednesday English Bible class in Malaysia. When there are special seminars or gospel meetings on-line overseas, I also try to be a part of those efforts.
As members of the Schertz congregation, we attend all of the functions of the congregation – Bible classes and worship on Sunday and Wednesday. We also try to support efforts that take place in the area as well.

We are so thankful for all of our supporters who continue to make it possible for us to work among Chinese and English-speaking people in Asia.

Taiwan in December
We are planning to visit Taiwan to attend and participate in the lectureship in Taichung and to visit and teach for the congregation in Hualien. Some of this trip will depend on Eta getting her visa for Taiwan. More about this trip in our next report.

Eta and I will return to Indonesia on October 17th. We have already purchased these roundtrip tickets. We are scheduled to return to the United States on January 25th of next year. Sometime next month, we will go ahead and purchase the tickets from Indonesia to Taiwan.
Please keep Jojo in your prayers after we go back to Asia as she continues her second year at Southwest School of Bible Studies. She still lacks about $200 in monthly support for her second year. She is scheduled to graduate in July of next year.
