Observations on
China
Many of you are aware of recent
developments in China as reported in various news reports. There has been a
crackdown by the authorities on those who are not willing to follow the
guidelines of the government in being part of the Three-Self Church. There have
also been reports that when the government next prints Bibles, there will be
many changes made in it.
Our brethren have broken into smaller
groups so as not to draw attention to themselves and not to have the government
prevent them from meeting for worship.
When I visit China, I make sure to keep a
low profile and let the local brethren do all of the outreach. I, then, am
willing to teach any lessons in a private setting. I also have the opportunity
to teach classes and preach at the weekly worship assemblies.
Please continue to keep our Chinese
brethren in your prayers as they strive to serve God in a difficult place.

Lubbock
Lectures/ Southeast GA Lectures
Soon after I returned home from overseas,
I spoke on a gospel meeting in Royston, GA, a lectureship in Lubbock, TX, a
Wednesday night service in Weatherford, TX, attended the funeral of my oldest
brother, Dave, in Terre Haute, IN, made a report on Sunday night to the
Chestnut Mountain congregation, and spoke on the Southeast Georgia Lectures in
Richmond Hill, GA. I also spoke in Dahlonega, GA on the morning of November 4th
to report on my work and preach a lesson to the congregation there.

Wedding News
During the month of November, Eta Purba
and I will be married. I will talk more about the wedding in the December
newsletter. The wedding will take place in Indonesia.
