Report on Malaysia and Singapore Trip

After three years, we are so thankful we were finally able to visit Malaysia and Singapore again. We left Lampung, Indonesia on November 9th to begin our journey that would be completed on November 30th.

We arrived on Nov. 10th to work with the Subang Jaya congregation in the Kuala Lumpur area. I presented three lessons on the subject of “Names and Titles of Christ.” It was good to be with the brethren there again. On Sunday night, I preached in Chinese at the Section 17 congregation.

The day after the meeting ended, brother Kam Wah took Eta and me to Cameron Highlands in north central Malaysia. It is also in the mountains where the temperatures are cooler. I have been there many times, but this was Eta’s first trip. I am a fan of Boh tea and we were able to visit the Boh tea plantation. I was also able to stock up on my supply of tea to take back to Indonesia.

After returning from this short trip, we began a weekend effort with the Section 17 congregation, also in the Kuala Lumpur area. Once again, it was good to be with the brethren there, in person. Once again, I presented three lessons in English and one lesson in Chinese.

We enjoyed a number of meals with the brethren while we were in Malaysia. On November 22nd, we departed Malaysia and made the short flight to Singapore.

On November 23rd began the 14th Annual Four Seas College Lectureship in Singapore. It was an honor to be part of this lectureship once again. I had the privilege to be part of a question and answer panel and then speak on the subject of “Preparing Hard Ground.” There was good attendance for all four days of the lectureship.

Each evening, there were three simultaneous gospel meetings at three different congregations in Singapore. I had the opportunity to speak at the Eastside congregation on Friday night. On Sunday morning, I spoke at the Boonlay Chinese congregation.

This was the first time in three years I was able to speak to the brethren in Malaysia and Singapore in person and not through on-line platforms. I continue to speak and teach via the on-line platforms every week. In addition to the classes at Four Seas, I take part in eleven other on-line services.

We are thankful for all of the hospitality of the local brethren on this trip. We are also thankful for our supporters for making this trip possible.

We finally made it back to Lampung on Nov. 30th. All of our flights and connections went smoothly.

My Next Chinese Class Is Now in Progress

I just recently finished teaching the Epistles of Peter, John, and Jude. Now, I am beginning to teach a Chinese course on “The Preacher and His Work – Mission Work.” This class will continue until Chinese New Year (around Jan. 20, 2023). I will start this class in Asia but will finish it while we are back in the states.

Again, I am thankful for the opportunity to teach Chinese students in the Chinese department of Four Seas College. I will have eleven full-time students and a number of part-time students as well.

End of the Year!

We have a number of brethren who contribute to our work on a monthly basis. There are also a number of brethren who make a contribution at the end of the year or at the beginning of the new year. We hope you will continue this and send your contribution to: “Grubb Mission Fund” c/o Schertz Church of Christ, 501 Schertz Parkway, Schertz, TX 78154. Please continue to make out your checks to “Grubb Mission Fund.”

We thank you in advance for all of your help in our efforts. We continue to put our trust in God in all things.

We are so thankful for all of our brethren who continue to support our work among the Chinese and Asian people. Without you, this work could not continue. We solicit your prayers!
