Even though we have received some new support in 2020,
we have lost about $500 a month (so far) in our support. During this new year,
I will be seeking new sources of support to enable our work to continue. Thanks
for your help and for your prayers.

Back to the States During January
On January 7th, I headed back to the states
to catch up with things needed to be done on this side of the ocean. Before
leaving for the states, I was able to deliver my first sermon in the Indonesian
language. It was quite a challenge. I would not have been able to do this
without the help of my wife. She helped me with the translation and
pronunciation of the words I would use in the lesson. Thanks to Jon Ropelemba
for reading the scriptures for me during the lesson.
On the way back to the states, I had a twelve-hour
layover in Seoul. I had hoped to take a free tour of the city, but the weather
was so bad, I decided against it.
On the last Sunday in January, I had the
privilege to speak at the College Road congregation in Palatka, FL. They are
also regular supporters of our work. Thanks to Mike and Lydia Tubbs for their
hospitality while in Florida.
During the month of January and the first
Wednesday in February, I had the privilege to teach the Wednesday night adult
Bible class at Chestnut Mountain.

2020 Indonesia Mission Trip
In the past, every other year, I traveled to
Indonesia to work encouraging the churches and the South Sumatra Bible Academy.
Since I have married Eta, I have spent many additional months in Indonesia and
have had opportunity to teach in various congregations and short courses in the
school.
This
year, we will be going to several cities in Indonesia during the months of
February and March, 2020, to encourage the churches in those cities. Those
cities include Manado, Palembang, Batam, Jakarta, and Lampung. I will also
teach as much of the gospel according to John at the Bible school. I hope to be
able to speak at some of the congregations in the Lampung province as well.
I am scheduled to return to Indonesia on the
6th of this month, planning to return to the states on the 19th of March. It is
hoped my wife will be able to accompany me at that time. It will depend upon
the visa. Prayer will be appreciated.
This will be my 75th overseas mission trip
since 1985.

4th Visa Application
During
the month of February, Eta will make a fourth attempt to obtain a tourist visa
to come to the United States. We have secured the help of Senator Perdue’s
office (U.S. Senator from Georgia) and are hopeful that, this time, her visa
application will be approved. Your prayers are appreciated.
We
are thankful Eta can travel with me to other countries and we hope she will be
able to add the United States to that list.
